Prism Health North Texas (PHNTX) announces the receipt of a grant totaling $305,414 from Dallas County Health and Human Services’ Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) Initiative. The funds will go towards preventive and restorative dentistry for people with HIV, increasing the organization’s capacity to provide needed oral health services for patients with HIV at the PHNTX Dental Care offices at Vickery Meadow and East Dallas.

Through the funding provided by the EHE Initiative, patients with HIV can receive oral health, patient navigation, and access to the e2Prism platform, an online document portal used for gathering documents to determine Ryan White grant funding eligibility and recertification.

People with HIV are predisposed to certain oral health problems including dry mouth, thrust, lesions, gingivitis, sores, ulcers, and more. Most mouth health problems related to HIV are treatable, underscoring the need to increase access to care for patients with HIV before conditions escalate.

EHE in Dallas is an initiative that seeks to accelerate the progress in HIV prevention and treatment to reduce new transmissions by 90% in 2030.

The three PHNTX Dental Care clinics are located in East Dallas, Farmers Branch, and in Central Dallas at Vickery Meadow. All three of the clinics are currently accepting new patients.
