Let’s Hang Out

Empowerment Connection hosts free events every month at our Oak Cliff center. Everyone 18 or older is invited. We offer a mix of fun and meaningful activities in a safe, sober space.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Game nights
  • Open mic and spoken word events
  • Support groups for people living with HIV
  • Recovery groups for people staying sober
  • Life skills workshops that help with things like finding a job or staying healthy

What Is Empowerment Connection?

Empowerment Connection (EC) is a program from Prism Health North Texas that brings people together in a safe, drug-free space. It’s all about connection, support, and learning.

Our events are designed to help people:

  • Build friendships
  • Learn how to stay healthy
  • Get support if they’re living with HIV
  • Make safer choices to lower the risk of HIV or STIs
  • Break down barriers like job access, education, and nutrition

Our events help people have fun, build friendships, and learn new things. You might attend a game night, a spoken word or open mic evening, a health class, or a life skills workshop. Every event is designed to bring people together and build a stronger, healthier community.

Recovery Groups

Our recovery groups are led by people who understand the journey. Whether you’re new to sobriety or have been working on it for years, you’re welcome to join SMART Recovery Oak Cliff, RISE Recovery, or New Spin CNA. These groups offer a safe place to share, learn, and grow in your recovery.

HIV Support Groups

We host monthly support groups for people living with HIV. One group is for women and one is for men. If you identify as a man or a woman and are living with HIV, you’re invited.

Events are held at the Dallas Empowerment Center in Oak Cliff unless stated otherwise.

Note: If an event falls on a federal or bank holiday, it will be canceled that week. We’ll see you the following week instead.
