Free World Bound

Your Bridge to Health and Success

Free World Bound is a program for individuals living with or at risk for HIV who are currently or previously incarcerated and ethnic minorities. The program provides HIV prevention services and linkage to medical care to help those individuals succeed in the free world. Free World Bound offers tools and ideas to help program participants meet their goals and be a part of a healthier community.

  • Assistance with Getting HIV Medication or Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP)
  • Behavioral Health
  • Referrals to Needed Services
  • HIV, STI, and Substance Misuse Prevention Education
  • Housing and Transportation
  • Food and Clothing
  • Emergency Financial Assistance
  • Transitional Needs if You are Currently Incarcerated
  • Linkage to Social Services

How the Program Works

If you are incarcerated or recently released and are living with HIV or at risk for HIV, you can reach us by:

  • Asking the medical infirmary or social service staff at your unit
  • Talking to your parole or probation officer
  • Talking to medical or social service providers
  • Calling us or sending us a note by mail

When you join the program we will:

  • Help coordinate your medical care
  • Help you to get HIV medicines or PrEP prevention medicine
  • Give you information about HIV, prevention, and staying well
  • Link you to resources that you need
  • Advocate for you

Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Fannin, Grayson, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, Wise

INSPIRE+

The Free World Bound INSPIRE+ program provides HIV, viral hepatitis, and substance misuse prevention services to young adults, ethnic minorities, men who have sex with men, and Veterans.

Services include:

  • HIV and hepatitis C rapid testing
  • HIV, viral hepatitis, and substance misuse prevention education
  • Self-Help In Eliminating Life-Threatening Disease Intervention (SHIELD)
    • SHIELD is an evidence-based intervention that teaches young adults how to talk about HIV and STI prevention with people in their social networks.
  • Condoms and lube prevention kits
  • Syringe cleaning kits
  • Referrals to needed services
