A Dallas Drag Pageant with Purpose

2024 marks the 20th anniversary of the Miss LifeWalk Pageant. Miss LifeWalk is the prettier sister of LifeWalk, beloved annual HIV/AIDS 5k walk and fundraiser. Miss LifeWalk has stepped out of her older sibling’s shadow to become her own stand-alone event and annual fundraiser for Prism Health North Texas (PHNTX), a 501(c)(3) healthcare organization whose vision is to build equitable healthcare access for all Texans.

The winner of Miss LifeWalk becomes an ambassador for Prism Health North Texas, promoting safe sex, getting tested, knowing your status, and being PrEPared! The reigning Miss LifeWalk uses her platform to raise funds and acts as an advocate for those North Texans who are uninsured or under-insured, especially those living with HIV.

In addition to advocating for better sexual health, the winner of the Miss LifeWalk 2024 competition will receive a $1,000 cash prize. The first runner up will receive $500, and the second runner up will receive $250. The judges also crown Miss Congeniality and Best Talent, which receive $50 each.

About LifeWalk

Your help and participation in LifeWalk make equitable healthcare a reality for North Texans.

LifeWalk is one of the largest and longest-running HIV awareness events in North Texas. For years, over 1,000 advocates have gathered for a 5K walk, community festival, and free HIV testing.

While the event is no longer a 5K walk, the legacy of this event, which has raised over $14 million since its inception in 1991, remains true. Following a transition to virtual events in 2020 and a series of events throughout the summer of 2021 and 2022, Prism Health North Texas will continue the legacy of LifeWalk and the amazing advocates and allies who walked each year through various events.

The transition away from a traditional 5K allows Prism Health North Texas to directly apply more funds raised to its mission and services as the cost of facilitating an event of that scale has continued to rise, similar to the rising cost of healthcare in the United States.
