Prism Health North Texas (PHNTX) announces the postponement of its October 3rd LifeWalk event to the spring of 2022, hoping to reunite the community for an afternoon of celebration on the Cedar Springs Strip once COVID-19 concerns subside. People living with compromised immune systems, including many of the organization’s patients, are at higher risk of illness and complications from exposure to COVID-19.

“As always, our priority is keeping our community safe,” PHNTX Events Manager Terry Walker said. “Even though we won’t get together for a big, in-person event, we can still make a big impact on the lives of North Texans living with HIV.”

LifeWalk is one of the largest and longest-running HIV awareness events in North Texas. Every October, over 1,000 advocates gather for a 5K walk, community festival, and free HIV testing for the community. The event benefits PHNTX and its mission to advance the health of North Texans through education, research, prevention, and personalized integrated HIV care. The monies raised for LifeWalk directly funds PHNTX HIV medical services and programs including HIV and STI testing, clinical research, and operating the organization’s clinics and pharmacies.

“We encourage everyone to register to fundraise for LifeWalk and invite your friends and family to register and join your fundraising team,” Walker added. “You can also make a direct donation to LifeWalk at LifeWalk.org.”
