Javier Enqriquez, Policy, Advocacy, and Community Engagement Coordinator, at Prism Health North Texas (PHNTX) has successfully completed the nine-month LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute, a program of the LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
“Prism Health North Texas is committed to having the very best leadership for the benefit of our patients and our organization,” said Januari Fox, Director of Policy, Advocacy, and Community Engagement. “We are extremely proud of Javier for representing our company, and our commitment to professional development as a member of the LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute’s class of 2026. His commitment to our company and their passion for leading others with dignity and respect is unparalleled.”
The LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute concludes a rigorous nine-month program that pairs professional excellence with civic advocacy. Over 60 hours of specialized instruction, graduates have mastered a comprehensive curriculum focused on leadership theory, LGBTQ+ history, and the socioeconomic issues impacting the community. By bridging the gap between professional skill-building and community engagement, the program ensures its graduates emerge as informed ambassadors and well-rounded representatives across every sector of the regional workforce.

“The goal of the LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute is to fill the generational information gap that exists within and regarding the LGBTQIA+ community,” said Lisa Howe who manages the Leadership Institute program and serves as Vice President of Membership & Programs for the North Texas LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce. “The LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute is a pipeline of talent, not just for the LGBTQIA+ community but for all of North Texas. If an organization is looking for a board member, committee member, volunteer, someone to hire or promote, the LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute is an excellent place to find thoughtful leaders who are prepared to lead in the workplace and community.”
The LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute provides an inclusive and nurturing environment for a diverse cohort of individuals to develop skills and explore the critical issues facing the LGBTQIA+ community. Whether one identifies as LGBTQ or an Ally, graduates of the LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute can be confident in their ability to represent and articulate the issues facing the LGBTQIA+ community.”
In his role as Policy, Advocacy, and Community Engagement Coordinator, Javier has focused on voter mobilization, education, and facilitating the Sexual Health Advisory Group (SHAG), informing how PHNTX executes informed, accessible, and culturally competent community engagement and programming. Outside of his work with PHNTX, he is the Co-Founder and President of the Dallas Social Queer Organization, which provides accessible and affirming spaces to LGBTQ+ people through social events, support groups, and learning opportunities. Javier is also a founding member of the Sunrise Movement Dallas, where he advocates for environmental justice legislation. Javier was raised in an immigrant family in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. He is driven by creating social change through fostering intentional representation, power equity, and leading with compassion.
