What if getting maintaining your health didn’t have to eat up half your work day or use precious PTO?
What if you could watch Netflix or make progress on a work deadline in the waiting room for your appointment?
We know – wishful thinking…
PHNTX’s new Oak Lawn Center makes the above a reality.
The center is re-imagined and redesigned with you in mind. Free Wifi and quiet nooks; industrial café seating and outlets for charging; creative design and natural sunlight all come together to create a new kind of healthcare experience.
What is sexual wellness?
Sexual wellness or sexual health is the intersecting points of the physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being as it relates to your sexuality. This includes, for example, your approach to sexuality and sexual relationships. The new facility is staffed to meet your personal non-reproductive sexual health needs.
People will access a variety of care options including, but not limited to sexually transmitted infections testing and treatment, PrEP administration, and behavioral health counseling. All of the services are provided in a non-traditional healthcare environment; designed to alleviate the fear and stigma around sexual activity and STIs. Care is affirming and affordable, financial assistance is available.
The Oak Lawn Center, named to denote clear support and investment in the LGBTQ community, will offer crucial community engagement and education on sexual wellness. The LGBTQ community faces unique barriers to care (eg. providers ignorant of needs, stigma, financial disparities) precipitating the style of the center to meet the community where they are and empower their sexually healthy lives. The community can expect reoccurring opportunities to learn more and invest in their sexual wellness through community events hosted at the Center.
