Why We’re Raising Our Glasses—and Our Voices: Critical Healthcare Funding is at Risk
In May 2025, the CDC paused critical HIV prevention funding nationwide—including programs right here at home. While PHNTX was awarded partial funding, we lost support for vital services that kept our community informed, empowered, and protected—like Empowerment Connection community events, Nice Package mail-order HIV test kits, and the Beneath the Briefs sex-positive podcast.
These cuts couldn’t have come at a worse time. North Texas still leads the state in new HIV diagnoses, and prevention is our best defense. That’s why we’re counting on this year’s Drag Brunch—to help keep these life-saving programs alive and accessible.
Last year, we raised over $5,000. This year, with your help, let’s blow that out of the water.
